7:00 pm - Tambien la Lluvia (Even the Rain) @ Center for the Arts Theater

Hosted by Teton Revival Initiative Bridging Experiences and JH Wildlife Film Festival. Gael Garcia Bernal stars in Icíar Bollaín’s “También la lluvia” (“Even the Rain”), which tells the story of the privatization of water and indigenous rights in Bolivia, contrasting it with Christopher Columbus’s arrival and consequential genocide of native people. It is a feature film, not a documentary, although the themes are inspirational, historical, and informative.

This is not just a third world issue. In our country, the Southwest is facing the greatest water shortages ever, compounded with water rights issues for the American Indians. We at Teton Revival Initiative Briding Experiences hope that this film will highlight the ongoing struggle for water security both within and outside our borders, and be an introduction to our Southwest service and adventure trip taking place late April, 2011. We are co-sponsoring this event with the Jackson Hole Wildlife Film Festival.
