The series opens on June 30th with the one and only Bruce Cockburn kicking off the Fourth of July weekend with a solo performance. “We have been working to bring Bruce to Teton Valley for 4 years now,” explained TVF Executive Director Jeff Potter. “Thirty six years in the business and 32 records to his name, Bruce is considered amongst the world’s best guitarists.” Bruce is often included in discussions with great guitarists such as Andres Segovia, Bill Frisell and Django Reinhardt. A Canadien singer-songwriter whose colorful and evocative style ranges from folk to blues to jazz to rock, Bruce’s hit songs, including “If I Had a Rocket Launcher,” “Lovers in a Dangerous Time” and his breakthrough “Wondering Where the Lions Are” have been covered by a diverse bunch: Jerry Garcia, Elbow, Anne Murray, Jimmy Buffet, Maria Muldaur, K.D. Lang, Third World, the Barenaked Ladies, Judy Collins and Chet Atkins. What a way to kick off the summer!
