In the first of his four weekend programs during our 50th season, Maestro Runnicles presents Beethoven’s 6th Symphony, continuing his tradition of beginning each Festival season with a Beethoven Symphony. The “Pastoral” is coupled with another symphonic work that pays tribute to its surroundings, Land of the Mountain and the Flood by MacCunn and Dvorak’s Cello Concerto, for which Lynn Harrell – longtime friend of the Festival and collaborator with Runnicles – joins the Festival Orchestra.
